THE GREATEST GIFTS OF ALL…“GRACE AND MERCY”
God’s Grace is defined as his free and unmerited favor. The Grace of our GOD wipes away our sin and grants us Mercy. Romans 5: 12-21. Mercy is compassion and forgiveness to the undeserving. This season let us dig deep within our souls and extend the Gifts of Grace and Mercy to those whom we determine to be unworthy of our love. Grace to the family members that have misused and abused our kindness and generosity (Luke 6:28). The scriptures remind us that “with lovingkindness have the Lord drawn us to him” (Jeremiah 31:3). Yes, Mercy to alcoholic who is unruly under the influence of alcohol. Show Mercy on the person struggling with drug addictions. Forgive them for lies, theft and deception due to a stronghold that is beyond their human ability to control.
The Holy Scriptures teaches us, those that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak (Romans 15:1). The holy scriptures teaches us” the effectual prayers of the righteous avail much” (James 5:16) Grace to the Abuser whose violence and aggression is a symptom of their internal pain and hidden shame. Have mercy, towards the gossiper whom judge in attempt to hide their own issues. Grace to the rebellious and defiant child (ren) whose behavior may be due to insufficient love and affection in the absence of rejection (Eph. 6:4). Remember the prodigal son (Luke 15). Grace to the Unfaithful Spouse. Jesus said to the accuser” he that is without sin cast the first stone (John 8:7).
Grace to the backslider (Jer. 3:14). The Grace of God drew us to our Lord. Jeremiah 31:3 “I have drawn thee with loving kindness and tender mercies”. Compassion, Humility, Kindness, Temperance and Forgiveness is the formula of Grace and Mercy. Beloved, may I suggest this holiday season you find it in your hearts to make your Best Gift, the Gifts of Grace and Mercy. Peace and Blessings upon you and your family.
