Treasure is defined as something of great value or worth; considered to be rare, precious, or highly prized. Treasures are often stored in special places, hidden, or placed in a safe keeping. The key to life’s journey is to continuously nurture our God given treasure, by not allowing people, places or things to derail us from who God Designed us to be. When we were younger, we exuded a certain confidence and assurance about ourselves. For some of us it became tainted as we experienced different things growing up. We began to question ourselves, our purpose, and our desires.
Matthew 25:15 tells us, to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one. Even though talents represent money, they can be spoken of symbolically to
represent other things. We can see them as the gifts God has placed inside us all. As our relationship in Christ grows, the more treasures we will discover about ourselves. There may be some things you didn’t even know you were capable of doing, some invention you’ve wanted to create, a business you’ve been wanting to start, a book you’ve been thinking about writing.
Remember all the movies you’d watch as a child. Seeing people on a quest for magical treasures hidden in secret places. They’d go through various dangers and turmoil. They would fight and conquer enemies of all kinds, to find the precious gems lying ahead. They were betrayed, beaten, and sometimes even imprisoned in their quest for the great treasures of life. Deep within us all are riches beyond our wildest dreams some are revealed early on in life, and we use them daily, while others take time to grow and must be nurtured in order to flourish. The Word of God is filled with so many promises for our lives. So, don’t allow the People You Meet, The Places You Go, & The Things You Do, To Derail You from Discovering your treasure. But instead allow The People You Meet, The Places You Go, & The Things You Do, to be influenced by every God given gift you possess.
“. . . resulting in a true knowledge” of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. “(Colossians 2:2-3)
