Prepare The Way For the Lord
Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the LORD promised on oath. Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in your wilderness these days, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you, which you not had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word from the LORD. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you. Deuteronomy 8:1-5
How can we live by God’s Word:
Recognize our need for it.
Agree that God alone can truly satisfy us.
Pray for God’s present, wisdom, and direction as we read.
Savor the relationship you have with him through Christ
Practice what he teaches us.
And what does he teach us:
Prepare our Heart
“Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart. (Jeremiah 24:7)
Prepare our Will
… Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. (Luke 11:2)
Committing ourselves completely to him.
Prepare our Mind
Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:13)
Prepare our Body
… “a body You have prepared for Me”. (Hebrews 10:5)
Christ came as God’s slave, having His ears prepared by God to listen to God Prepare our Finances
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. (Malachi 3:10)
Prepare our Future
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight, (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Once we have prepared our Hearts, Wills, Minds, Bodies, Finances, and Futures unto the Lord; we stand fast and ready to strive toward being perfected in our faith. In every Christian’s life there will be trials, disappointments, persecution, and temptations, but through all this we must stand firm in Christ. We have to be on guard and stand firm in biblical truths. So we can truly “Prepare The Why For The Lord!”
